George Joseph Waurzyniak
Dec. 12, 1921

George Joseph attended the University of Detroit, sailed the Great Lakes, then when World War II broke out, joined the Merchant Marines. After the war, he married Dolores Ochylski. He worked for a small plant called the Divco Co. He joined the Detroit Fire Dept. in 1946. Raised a family of four boys and three daughters. Retired from the D.F.D. and built a retirement home on Hodge Lake, Evart Mi. Retirement did not suit him, so he worked at the Evart Products an additional ten years. Then was ready for retirement. The house by this time over flowed with children, spouses, and grand children, at times.

George developed a muscular weakness, sold the house on the lake, and moved into a more efficient one story home just outside the city limits of Big Rapids, Mi. Here we hope to have many happy years.
