Felix L. Gajewski, 85, of Cheboygan, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2000 in Cheboygan.

He was born in Cheboygan on Feb. 21, 1915, the son of Felix and Mary (Wawryzniak) Gajewski. He was employed as a wheelsman aboard freightcrs on the Great Lakes, working for U.S. Steel, based out of Duluth, Minn. Following 41 years of sailing he retired about 1987, and returned to Cheboygan to make his home on his farm in Riggsville. Felix loved to go hunting when he was able. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church at Riggsville and also belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Survivors include his sisters Catherine Brunkcy of Sterling Heights, Virginia Friedel of New Baltimore, Mary (Frank) Bur, Stella Robajdek, both of Cheboygan and Josephine (John) Curzenski of Warren and his brothers John (Betty) Dotski, George (Edith) Dotski, and Edward Dotski all of Cheboygan. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Phillip Gajewski.
  Cremation has taken place. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to make them to the Sacred Heart Church Building Fund. Envelopes for this purpose are availablelat the Christian Funeral Home.
